Metro M2 Will Not Serve Kossuth Tér For 3 Months
For a period of about three months from the start of this December, metro line M2 will not serve the Kossuth Lajos tér M in either direction, due to the demolition of the MTESZ building. From Deák Ferenc tér, Kossuth Lajos tér can be reached by replacement bus M2A. Additionally, BKK provides a new shuttle-boat service, line D2 between Batthyány tér and Kossuth Lajos tér.

Kossuth Lajos tér and its vicinity will continue to be accessible by the usual public transport lines from all points of the city, such as tram line 2, bus lines 15 and 115 as well as trolleybus lines 70 and 78. Recorded public announcements at Kossuth Lajos tér metro station along with information boards displayed on metro cars of line M2 also provide information about this service change.

In addition to the replacement bus running between Deák Ferenc tér and Kossuth Lajos tér and the replacement boat service running between Batthyány tér and Kossuth Lajos tér, higher frequencies are provided on tram line 2, bus lines 15 and 115 as well as trolleybus lines 70 and 78 to directly access Kossuth Lajos tér, while metro line M3, bus lines 9 and 105 and trolleybus lines 72 and 73 provide direct access to areas nearby.
