Szijjártó: Italy Bus Crash Not Caused By Technical Problem
The recent bus crash near Verona in which 16 Hungarians died does not appear to have been caused by a technical problem, the Hungarian foreign minister said. Péter Szijjártó added that the Italian police had not seen any tyre marks on the road at the site of last Friday’s accident, nor survivors had reported any unusual developments in the few minutes before the crash.

Concerning the two survivors who were hospitalised in Verona in critical condition, Szijjártó said that one of them could be returned to Hungary in 7 to 10 days if he further recovers.

Szijjártó also said that identification of the victims takes longer than expected, and the results may be delayed by a few days.

He added that the victims’ remains will be brought to Hungary once those results are obtained and Italian authorities issue the necessary permits.
