Hungarian Singer Presser Reaches Settlement With American Rapper
Singer-songwriter Gábor Presser has reached an out-of-court agreement with American rapper Kanye West over the use of his song “Gyöngyhajú lány” (The Girl with the Pearly Hair), a 1969 hit for the rock group Omega.

West sampled the tune for about 90 seconds on his song “New Slaves” released in 2013.

West originally gave Presser $10,000, but the songwriter refused to cash the cheque.

Presser sued West in a US court, seeking $2.5 million, but eventually the two parties reached an agreement for an undisclosed sum.

Presser said neither party nor their lawyers may comment on the settlement.
