Swimming Ceremonies To Cost HUF 4bn
The opening and closing ceremonies of this summer’s World Aquatics Championships will cost Ft 3.8 billion, it emerges from the public procurement bulletin Közbeszerzési Értesítõ. The ceremonies will be held outside the Várkert Bazár on the Buda riverbank.

The competition starts on July 14 and ends on July 30.

In another development, website 24.hu has discovered that Valton, a security company favoured by Fidesz, will provide security to the world championships for over Ft 1 billion.

The contract was awarded to the company on February 16 after a negotiated procedure without a public announcement of the tender, by referring to the urgent nature of the matter.

Valton often secures Fidesz events and helped the police on October 23 when Together supporters attempted to disrupt Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s speech by blowing whistles.
