Spring Fair At Vörösmarty Square
Even if you don’t plan on shopping, you can go along to enjoy free cultural events, arts and crafts presentations, folk music and dance shows. Also, the fair’s food stands feature mouthwatering roasts and traditional dishes, and those with a sweet tooth will also find plenty to choose from among the artisanal marzipan and chocolates, as well as the perennial favourite of Hungarian fairs, kürtőskalács - chimney cake - baked onsite over an open fire.

Organisers of Budapest's main downtown Spring Fair promise visitors will be sure to find 'delightful treasures' as they browse among the vendors wooden huts selling gifts, clothing and accessories to suit modern tastes and also items made respecting age-old traditions, for one month around the Easter holidays.

As well as cultural and musical performances, visitors can catch a glimpse into the work of traditional craftspeople, with demonstrations by basket-weavers, potters and blacksmiths.

The interactive, family-oriented presentations of folk traditions will change every week: there will be opportunities to try felting, beading and glassblowing, as well as making jewellery, musical instruments, and cheese.

Address: Vörösmarty Square, Budapest 1051.

Now on until 30 April.
