Danube Regatta On Saturday, 6 May

The annual Danube Regatta, this year held on 6 May, is Hungary’s biggest cultural and sporting event on teh riverfront, featuring international rowing and a dragon boat competition. For the fifth time in 2017 the Regatta will take place at Műegyetem rakpart, and 17 Hungarian university teams will test their strength on a course stretching from the Hungarian Parliament and the Vigadó to the main building of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics.
Organisers say, "Eights are manned by professionals, while the crew of the dragon boats consist of enthusiastic and adventurous amateurs, who are eager to be part of exciting competitions and a fun preparation period.
Fans at the embankment will make sure that you will have an unforgettable Regatta experience: representing their universities, they will gather their friends around them during and after the races and enjoy the biggest party the embankment has ever seen.
Meanwhile, cheerleader teams will compete against each while preforming in spectacular shows and people with the taste for extreme sports will have the opportunity to test their limits and prepare for summer with an adrenaline boost.
A sporting event like this would not be the same without music. During the day, the final round of the battle of the bands, Sound of the University, is on, while, after the races, the concerts and the biggest party are in store for the visitors: popular bands and DJs at the Regatta will make sure that you will have an unforgettable experience on the eve of the festival season."
