Hungarian Film ‘1945’ Wins Audience & Jury Prize At San Francisco Jewish Festival
After a screening greeted with a standing ovation, director Ferenc Török’s “1945” has captured both the Jury’s and the Audience’s Prize at the 37th San Francisco Jewish Festival, the Hungarian Film Fund said.

The story relates the events of a single afternoon in a remote Hungarian village where the arrival of two Orthodox Jews catalyses an unwelcome reckoning with the recent past of the locals.

The film has already won awards at the Berlin Film Festival, in Miami, Washington and other prestigious events, the fund noted.
