24 QUEEN hit songs in a spectacular performance

We Will Rock You musical created from QUEEN’s songs is one of the greatest successes of musical history among the 10 longest-running musicals, which was released in 2002 in London.

The show has been produced on 6 continents, so far in 17 countries, with more than 16 million viewers. In London, the Dominion Theater has been played a record time for 12 years, with 4600 performances, 6.5 million viewers, which performance was awarded the Olivier audience prize.

Edit Simon producer has engaged Cornelius Baltus to direct the performance, who became known in Hungary as the director of Dance of the Vampires and the Chess. The set and costume designer is Kentaur, the choreographer is Péter Lajos Túri, the art director is Balázs Póka.

The textbook of a futuristic comedy dreamed of by Queen's hit songs is written by Ben Elton. The performance features well-known Queen classics such as Radio Ga Ga, Somebody to Love, Bohemian Rhapsody, Under Pressure, Who Wants to Live Forever, We're the Champion and of course the musical title track We Will Rock You.

The story takes place in the distant future, at the beginning of the 24th century, on the planet called iPlanet, once called Earth. Globalization is all about. The whole world is dominated by the GaGa group, Globalsoft, headed by the cruel Killer Queen and her helper, secret police chief Khashoggi.

This is a seemingly happy, safe GaGa world where young people watch the same movies, wear the same clothes, listen to the same computer generated music and think the same. It's a brainwashed world. The real live music was extinct, the instruments were banned. A group of young people revolt against the plastic world, they are individuals who want to bring back freedom of thought and live rock music with real instruments. Resisters must face fierce struggle with cruel power until they find the "champion's instrument," the liberating, sacred electric guitar ...

The characters of the musical are reincarnations of popular national and international stars. The characters of the show include the names of rock and pop legends such as Britney Spears, Ozzy Osbourne, Lady Gaga, Tina Turner, Madonna, Cindy Lauper, Pink, AC / DC, Mick Jagger, Pici, Somló, Bono and Buddy Holly.

The most appropriate actors have been selected in several rounds of open castings. The main roles include Éva Sári, Géza Egyházi, Dávid Scheich, Anna Török, Nika Mónika Veres, Anna Balogh, Csaba Zöld, János Szemenyei and Stéphanie Schlesser.

The rehearsals of the Budapest performance began in June, and the creative team was able to select a team of extraordinary talents, and the performance will explode as a bomb at the Budapest premiere announced on 24 November. Tibor Miklós lyrics and Zoltán Várkonyi's Hungarian translation faithfully follow the special world of Freddie Mercury, Queen and Ben Elton and the humour of the piece.

The talented dramaturge of the production is Niki Farkas. The musical, which takes place in the distant future, is very actual, a futuristic comedy in which Kentaur's costumes and scenery give a special visual frame.

To realise the gigantic set of the performance, the production aimed to collect 16,000 magneto cassettes, from which a monumental memorial wall will be displayed in the scenery and in the in the venue. The cassettes can be collected at the Hard Rock Cafe in Budapest – which is a fictitious location of the storyline -, or can be sent to PS Production’s postal address.
