Diehl Aircabin To Establish 9 Million Euros Engineering Centre In Hungary
German avionics parts manufacturer Diehl Aircabin is investing 2.76 billion forints (EUR 9m) to set up an engineering centre in Debrecen (E Hungary) with a 968 million forint grant from the Hungarian government, creating 150 jobs.

Diehl Aircabin has recently announced plans to expand its production base in Nyírbator (E Hungary), increasing headcount at the plant by 230 from the current 565, the minister noted. Including the Debrecen engineering centre investment, Diehl will employ around 1,000 people in Hungary, Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó added.

He said the investment demonstrates that the economy is moving to a new phase which will involve not only production but also research and development to be carried out in Hungary. For this to materialise, it is important that more and more international companies should gain positive experiences in production in Hungary.

Szijjártó also noted that another German company has decided to invest in Hungary and said that based on figures from the fist six months of this year, bilateral trade could be record high by the end of the year and exceed 50 billion euros.
