Tram No. 1 To Be Extended

Tram No. 1 line will be extended as far as Etele tér in the framework of Budapest’s tram development plans, a statement issued by the Budapest city council said on Thursday.
The extension of the tram line is expected to reduce traffic and noise pollution and improve the air quality. The tram line will provide a connection, free from transfer, between Kelenföld and Pest. The project will begin on Monday, November 13.
The Ft 8.6 billion development project was subsidised by Ft 8.5 billion from the EU.
