App Aims To Educate About Money
Economy Minister Mihály Varga and head of the State Treasury József Mészáros presented a new mobile phone app at a Budapest high school.

Játékkincstár, available on IoS and Android phones, offers a playful tool for learning about finance and savings.

It is part of the Mobilkincstár app developed by the State Treasury in 2013, which allows owners of Hungarian government bonds to monitor their savings and carry out transactions via their mobile phone.

Varga stressed the need to disseminate financial knowledge in elementary and secondary schools.

Some 200,000 students in 2,000 schools are taking part in the government-supported Pénz7 learning scheme, where economists and financial experts hold classes on basic financial knowledge and raising financial awareness.
