President, PM, House Speaker Honour Pyeongchang Olympics Athletes
Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, President János Áder and House Speaker László Kövér honoured the most successful members of the Hungarian Winter Olympic team at a ceremony.

“Victory and success is never given to us Hungarians for free, it takes faith, courage and willpower,” Orbán said in Parliament, where he decorated athletes who finished among the top six in the 2018 winter games in Pyeongchang, South Korea.

It has now been proven that promoting skating with extra funds was a good decision, Orbán said.

Hungary’s short-track speed skating team composed of Csaba Burján, Viktor Knoch, Liu Shaoang and Sándor Liu Shaolin won the first gold medal for Hungary in a winter Olympics by triumphing in the men’s 5,000-metre relay final.
