Central Bank Foundations Buy Expensive Tapestries
One of the central bank’s foundations has bought hand-knitted tapestries for a total of Ft 38 million and placed an order for a statue of Pallas Athena at a cost of Ft 63 million, according to documents obtained by investigative reporters at news website Átlátszó.

Átlátszó had requested information about the spending of the central bank’s foundations that exceeded Ft 5 million.

Two of the foundations have also signed framework agreements for a total of Ft 173 million with a company related to Felcsút mayor Lőrinc Mészáros, a close friend of Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, for public procurement consultancy, Átlátszó added.
