Hungarian Gov't Lacks Policy For Women Says Opposition
The government still lacks a comprehensive policy for women, the leader of the opposition Socialist Party said. “Its family policy is questionable and women still don’t have equal opportunities,” Bertalan Tóth said.

Hungary’s current leadership is destroying the common values of society, he told a conference focusing on women in politics.

“Those who are in power today see a role for women in the kitchen — and very often in the maternity ward too — and not in public life”, he said.

The Socialists are fighting against this, he said, adding that women should have a full role in society.

“We must fight not only for equal rights and wages for women, but for the rule of law in Hungary, as well as for the rights of employees and the poor,” Tóth said.
