'Paris De Nuit', Circus Style Fun @ Palace Of Arts Budapest, 3 – 5 January
An evening of lust, love and loneliness inspired by the characteristic world of the famous Hungarian photographer, Brassaï. Stunning circus artists, dancers and musicians are bringing the decadent but loveable secret Paris nights in the 1930's to life.

Paris De Nuit takes its audience into the roaring variety life of the 30's filled with its voluptuous desires and beauty: Revealing illusionary moments from the lives of prostitutes and peddlers, down and outs and illicit lovers who lived on the edges of society.

The show is staged with the audience seated at tables around and on stage bringing the performers as close to the spectators as possible. These special tables were designed to be functioning as circus equipment, so while drinking your glass of champagne an artiste might be doing a handstand above you.

All scenes of the show are inspired by the cultural legacy of Brassaï's photographs that captured the most unique and daring moments of the Paris night. Discover the hidden sides of Montmartre, where Picasso, Henry Miller, Modigliani, Josephine Baker and Brassaï would sink into the shadows of the night.

Exceptional jazz musicians, singers, dancers and our stunning circus artists will bring a unique experience alive, the secret Paris you have always wanted to know.

Eliades Ochoa's performance at Müpa Budapest is sure to be one of the most exciting concerts of 2024. Although the Cuban singer/guitarist has been a famous musician in his native country since the 1970s, it was only at the turn of the millennium that the wider world first encountered his name, thanks to the Wim Wenders documentary on the Buena Vista Social Club.

So what is Jazz? Something that is difficult to define? Of course, because of its amazing ability to change styles! If you want it to be, it can be romantic-psychedelic magic, and at other times it’s an ambient jazz-pop journey, or perhaps a touch of hip-hop-afrobeat levitation. At the 17th, Jazz Showcase, every note points to the future.
