Here's a quick yet insightful Q&A with Jonas Sjöstedt the GM at Centara Nova Hotel & Spa

What surprised you most when you first started living in Pattaya?
That Pattaya is a City with a beach destination. The area in and around it is very large, and is still growing. If you go outside the City you can find many top quality Golf Courses, Family/Adventure Parks, a great Water Park, temples, a floating market, even a winery, and much more. It’s a destination for everyone!

Friends are in Pattaya for just a few days - what must they absolutely see and do?
A boat trip to Koh Lan island is a must! The floating market, Nong Nuch Garden (Royal botanic Garden), and a sunset walk by Pattaya Beach Road. A visit on one of the many Seafood restaurants in Na Jomtien is one of my personal favourites!

What's your favourite Thai food / word?
There so many fantastic dishes. Tom Yam Goong is my favorite soup, Moo Ping (pork on a stick), sticky rice and Nam Jim Jew (spicy sauce) with Som Tum salad (Papaya salad) is one of the best value for money meals in the world if you ask me! Click here to see his full Xpat Interview.

Pictured above is Jonas together with his Head Chef, presenting a Thai Cook Course certificate to a happy guest.

A great day time activity organised by the hotel is a Thai Cooking Class, led by a jolly experienced head chef and his friendly team of helpers, who ensure participants in the course enjoy learning the finer secrets of Thai cuisine while having fun cooking local ingredients fresh from the market.

On the topic of F&B, guests are well taken care of here as the property offers fine food at its main 'Glow' all-day dining restaurant, serving Thai and international cuisines indoors and on the terrace. The 'Lido Pool Bar' serves refreshing cocktails, thirst quenching drinks and light snacks to those relaxing poolside, plus In-Room dining is also available.

Relaxation With A Special Touch

To relax or revive visit the onsite spa, one of the most unique in the city. ‘Spa Cenvaree’ not only provides the therapeutic benefits of Thai body and foot massage, it offers the blissful pampering of a traditional Ayurvedic treatment designed to detoxify and rejuvenate.

Also, this spa’s innovative Dead Sea therapy options utilise the purest sea salts and mud - from the Dead Sea of course but applied by master Thai spa therapists - providing a truly exceptional experience so you can rediscover inner balance and emerge reinvigorated ready for more adventures in Thailand.

Getting There & Around

The drive to and from the closest airport, U-Tapao International, is easy and takes approximately one hour.

From Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi International Airport is convenient too, taking just a little longer, around one and a half hours by car or taxi.

A shuttle service connects the hotel to Central Festival Pattaya shopping and lifestyle centre on an hourly basis.
