Budapest Fish Festival, 16– 17 February
The seventh Budapest Fish Festival will take place close to Eötvös Loránd University next to the river Danube. Admission to the event is free of charge.

The festival offers, among other things, fish from the main rivers of Hungary, the Danube and the Tisza, and from the lakes Balaton, Tisza, Fertő and Velence.

The aim of the festival is to boost Hungarian fish consumption and strengthen the culture of Hungarian gastronomy, say the organisers.

Heated tents, concerts, an amusement park, aquariums, adventure fishing, a giant barbecue and thousands of seats await visitors.

Spicy Fisherman's soup prepared exclusively from freshwater fish is sure to be a feature, and this gastronomic event also usually showcases cooking contests, wine and pálinka tastings, plus entertainment such as folklore shows.

This year’s festival will present bream as its star fish.

Date and time:
16 – 17 February, 10 am – 10 pm.

Venue:
Danube bank near Eötvös Lóránd University
1117 Budapest, Pázmány Péter stny 1.
