Fewer Crimes Registered In Hungary
Police recorded 186,724 crimes last year, 13% fewer than in 2017, National Police spokesman József Gál told state news channel M1 on Thursday.

Police were able to bring culprits to justice in 70% of investigations.

A total of 78 murders were committed last year, down from 90 in 2017. No murders were left unsolved.

The number of road accidents rose by 427, while 633 people died in road accidents, eight more than in the previous year.

The majority of accidents occurred due to speeding.

Gál said 40% of crimes against property were investigated successfully, adding that there is room for improvement in this area.
