Liszt Academy In World’s Top 100 Education Institutions

The Liszt Ferenc Music Academy is among the world’s top 50-100 higher education institutions in the Performing Arts category, according to the 2019 rankings of London-based higher education analysts Quacquarelli Symonds.

The only two other universities from Central and East Europe among the best 100 are Estonia’s Academy of Music and Drama and Moscow’s Bolshoi Ballet Institute. 

The survey noted that the Academy of Music’s research in musicology is outstanding in international comparison, one of the indicators of which is that the researchers regularly receive foreign invitations.

Following Salzburg, Berlin, Amsterdam, Madrid, and Paris, Claus Guth's critically acclaimed 2008 adaptation of Don Giovanni is being presented at the National Opera House in Hungary. The title role of this provocative, youthful production is performed by Gábor Bretz and Károly Szemerédy, the ensembles of the Hungarian State Opera are conducted by principal conductor Martin Rajna.
