New App Aims To Revolutionize Budapest's Tourism With Gen Y
Local residents can show off the hidden beauties of the capital to tourists with the help of Like Locals, a new app aimed at revolutionizing the world of tourism, especially catering to the traveling habits of Generation Y, says a press release.

The app, free to download from Appstore and Google Play, enters its public beta period today, with the developers awaiting input from users to further improve user experience. According to the press release, the appʼs trial period will last for several months.

Apart from Budapest, users can take a walk in two other cities, Barcelona and London, leaving a unique "footprint" behind with the help of the app.

The application promises special sights, with the recommendations of true locals, spiced up with the help of a treasure hunt game.

By incorporating the suggestions of locals, tourists can get off the beaten track and get to know hidden locations and businesses, in turn helping local communities as well.

Gabriella Csányi, co-founder and CEO of Like Locals, notes that the feedback from the trial period is especially important to finalize the app in the future.

"We want to create a service that caters especially to the traveling habits of Generation Y, and hence provides an authentic, personalized travel experience for users," Csányi explains.

"With this in mind, weʼre launching our trial period, with some 30 trails in each of the three cities. We would like to call on people to download, try, and share their opinions, in order to make Like Locals the traveling companion of Generation Y for real."

Travelers can familiarize themselves with the stations along the trails, discovering hidden gems and the city itself via stories and descriptions by locals.
