The decoration of eggs is an integral part of folk traditions related to Easter in Hungary. Also it has emerged as an autonomous art form here, and ornamented eggs are made, collected and exhibited as works of art independently from the traditional festive occasion.

The Arts on Eggs Museum has its home in the picturesque environment of Zengővárkony at the foothills of the 682 m Zengő Mountain. The village is accessible through Route 6, turn-off 17 kilometers North of Pécs.
