Hungary's Rate Of Population Decline Increases In First 6 Months
The rate of population decline increased in the first six months of 2019 after 2.8% fewer births and 1.0% more deaths were registered compared with the same period last year, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said.

In the first six months of the year, 41,902 children were born, 1,201 fewer than in the same period last year, while 67,741 died, 691 more than in Jan-June 2018.

The rate of natural population decline was 7,9% higher than in the same period a year earlier, KSH said.

The number of marriages increased, with 24,020 couples tying the knot, 7,9% more than in the same period last year.
