Aldi Announces EUR 3.9 Million Investment In Pécs

ALDI International IT Services will invest 1.3 billion forints (EUR 3.9m) in establishing its second service centre in Hungary in Pécs, Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said at a press conference.

The company, providing IT services for the local unit of German discount chain Aldi, will receive a 300 million forint government grant for the investment, Szijjártó said.

The investment will create 70 jobs raising Aldi IIT’s headcount to 150 in Hungary.

The centre in Pécs will provide support service in Hungarian, German, English, Italian, French and Slovenian.

ALDI IIT supports operations of ALDI South in 3,800 stores and 55 logistics centres.

The number of registered jobseekers in Hungary fell by 10,000 to 235,400 last month, an all-time low for the month of February, the state secretary for employment policy said on Friday, citing data from the National Employment Service (NFSZ).
