Aréna Mall To Expand In Budapest
Symmetry Arena, the owner of Budapest shopping centre Aréna, has filed a request with the Budapest Government Office on expanding its area from the present 42,000m2 to 60,000m2, HVG reports.

The planned new wing would also have a two-storey underground garage with space for 500 vehicles.

The expansion would make the shopping centre near Keleti train station the largest shopping mall in Budapest, taking the title from the WestEnd.

Construction work may start in the third quarter and is expected to last for two years.

South African investment fund NEPI purchased Symmetry Arena for €275 million in 2017.
