Elderly Shopping Time May Be Cancelled In Hungary
Family Affairs Minister Katalin Novák will propose to Viktor Orbán the suspension of designated shopping hours for the elderly, she announced on her Facebook page.

Novák consulted with members of the Elderly Council and was told that many are happy with the protected shopping hours, but they recommend cancelling the restricted shopping times at least on weekends during the Christmas period because of a growing tension with other age groups.

“As the holidays approach, more people are on leave and wanting to shop, causing more tension between the age groups because of the exclusionary time zone", said Novák.

She noted that many young people cannot shop properly in many cases, because young people continue to work in the evening, but shops close at 7 p.m. therefore they can no longer get the right goods.
