Hungarian Media Authority Received 824 Reports Of Internet Abuse In 2019
National media authority NMHH received 824 reports of online legal violations via its Internet Hotline service last year, 13% more than in 2018, the authority said, marking international Safer Internet Day.

Most cases, 276 altogether, concerned child pornography while 148 cases concerned the release of unauthorised content, the authority said in a statement.

Fully 142 cases of phishing were reported, it added.

The number of reports of the sexual abuse of children jumped threefold since 2018, NMHH said.

Safer Internet Day was an EU SafeBorders initiative launched in 2004.
