Video: Endangered Hippo Born In Hungary
A female baby pygmy hippopotamus is now on show to the public in Hungary at Szeged Zoo.

She is still waiting for her name, as the zoo has reached out via social media for the public to suggest names.

The zoo vet announced the rare hippo baby was well and was growing fine. This zoo breeds hippos as part of a European program which monitors and regulates pygmy hippos.

The zoo’s director said it’s not clear yet where this hippo will spend her life after she is 1 and a half years old, while for now the baby is being cared for by her mother in Hungary.

You can send your name suggestions for the baby hippo girl via email to info@zoo.szeged.hu up until 28 February.
