Hungary Ranked 13th Most Peaceful Country
The Institute for Economics and Peace ranked Hungary 13th in its annual report examining the peaceful nature of individual countries, improving by two places, according to the conservative daily Magyar Nemzet.

In this year's Global Peace Index study, Hungary finished ahead of countries such as Australia, Belgium, Germany, and Norway.

The research institute summarized the data from 163 countries based on 23 indicator numbers.

These included the number of citizens who died in an external conflict, the number and outcome of violent demonstrations, the regulation of access to small arms, political instability, and the size of the armed forces.

Interestingly, the institute saw Europe as more peaceful this year than in 2021.

The reason for this is clearly that, according to the research methodology, Ukraine and Russia are located in the region called Eurasia and Russia.

In Europe, Hungary is the ninth most peaceful country.
