Sugar Shortages in Many Hungarian Shops
More and more shops are running short of price capped granulated sugar, Telex reports.

It is not just that there is no sugar on the shelves, but the shops do not even know when the next delivery will arrive.

The sugar shortage affects not only small stores, but also larger chains, such as Aldi, Lidl, Tesco, Spar and Penny Market.

Shop assistants clearly blame the price cap on refined sugar that has been in effect since February and the quantity restriction introduced as the reason for the lack of goods.

The shortages are not new at all, and may become even more conspicuous due to the Christmas baking season, the website adds.
