Largest Wine Producer in Tokaj Region Expects Turnover to Exceed HUF 3 Billion
Vintner Grand Tokaj, the largest wine producer and distributor in the Tokaj region, expects turnover to reach or exceed Ft 3 billion this year from Ft 2.7 billion last year, CEO László Rábai said.

The company buys wine from hundreds of producers growing grapes on some 650 hectares.

Grand Tokaj, which exports half of its products, said raising output from an annual 4.5 million bottles to 6.5-7 million would allow the company to operate more efficiently and reduce losses.

Demand for the company’s flagship Tokaji aszú and Szamorodni sweet wines picks up in the holiday season.

The company is assessing the impact of climate change on wine growing and is investing in enhanced energy efficiency and improved logistics, Rábai added.
