Macron Orbán Meet in Paris
Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and French President Emmanuel Macron met in Paris late on Monday to discuss bilateral ties and the most important aspects of the future of Europe, the PM’s press chief said on Tuesday.

Orbán said Hungary wants an immediate ceasefire and peace talks in Ukraine, Bertalan Havasi said. Hungary has been pro-peace since the start of the war and will stay so, Orbán said.

Orbán also had talks with former French president Nicolas Sarkozy, focusing on Hungary-France bilateral relations and international issues such as the war in Ukraine and European politics.

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán will meet French President Emmanuel Macron for talks at a working dinner in Paris on Monday, Orbán’s press chief said in a statement.According to French press reports, the meeting will be held in preparation for an EU summit held late in March.

The agenda of the talks includes the war in Ukraine, European competitiveness, energy issues, and the continent’s defence industry.
