Special Boats Running to World Athletics Championships in Budapest
A special boat service will be gliding down the Danube during the World Athletics Championships to whisk visitors from the city to the stadium site in south Pest.

For nine days, spectators can sail to the National Athletics Centre from Batthyány tér, the dock on the Buda side opposite Parliament, for a one-day pass of 1,500 forints. Batthyány tér has its own metro station on the red M2 line.

The World Athletics Championships starts this Saturday, August 19. Boats set off every 30-40 minutes from 8am on the opening day, then from 7am or 7.30am for morning sessions, 4pm-5.20pm for the evening competition.

Boats terminate at Müpa, the arts complex with access to the stadium site. Journey time is 15 minutes.

There are also mid-afternoon services from Vigadó tér on the Pest side, and mid-morning on Wednesday, 23 August, Friday and Saturday. Boats leave from and return to Pier 5/5A.
