Central Bank Keeps Base Interest Rate on Hold at 13% in Hungary

Hungarian central bank (NBH) rate-setters kept the base rate unchanged at 13.0% at a regular policy meeting.

At the same time, the Monetary Council decided to narrow the interest corridor further, the upper band lowered by 100 basis points to 16.5%.

Hungarian central bank (NBH) rate-setters cut the base rate by 50 basis points to 7.75% at a regular policy meeting. The Council also decided to lower the symmetric interest rate corridor in tandem, bringing the O/N deposit rate to 6.75% and the O/N collateralised loan rate to 8.75%.
