Summer Raids: Tax Agents Inspect Hungary's Lakeshore Establishments

The tax office NAV imposed Ft 10 million in penalties on vendors, catering units, and accommodation providers around Lake Balaton and Lake Velence in the regular summer inspections until the first week of August.
Inspectors reviewed illegal employment, the use of online cash registers, and the issue of invoices and receipts.
In some 1,800 inspections, NAV officers found shortcomings in one out of four cases.
Most of these were related to problems with online cash registers or failing to issue receipts, while 83 entrepreneurs did not report their employees and 25 traders violated excise tax regulations.
Entrepreneurs with excessive violations can expect subsequent tax audits.
NAV affirmed that inspections will continue until the end of the holiday season.
