Budapest's 5th District Cashes in on CEU Building
The Fidesz-led local government of the Fifth District in Budapest has decided to sell three pieces of real estate for a total of Ft 2.1 billion, RTL reports.

These include the former Central European University (CEU) building on Zrinyi utca, the closed post office building on Dorottya utca and a cellar on Papnövelde utca.

The only bidder for the CEU building was ZO Invest, founded in July, offering the asking price of Ft 1.9 billion. The CEO of the company is the daughter of György Lefkovics, who operates the restaurants TomGeorge, Kyoto Budapest and Leroy.

Lefkovics and Tamás Sztanó, the fellow restaurateur with whom he has been in partnership for decades, have bought the Serényi Palace in Dédestapolcsány, a village in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county.

Lefkovics told RTL that he and Sztanó have decided to try their hand at something other than hospitality, so an Ayurvedic health centre is being developed in the Serényi Castle, the construction of which is currently underway.
