A head doctor in Nagykanizsa, south-west Hungary, and two associates in Budapest have been caught on suspicion of taking bribes, police reported.

According to the report, the head doctor of Nagykanizsa hospital provided discreet treatment in the VIP room of the psychiatric ward for his private patients who wanted to avoid the public. In return, he asked for considerable sums of money.

The patients gained access to the treatment with the mediation of two people in Budapest, and the cash had to be paid to them. The mediators transferred the cash to bank accounts belonging to the doctor or members of his family.
