B+N Update: MBH Bank is Building a New Emblematic HQ
MBH Bank is building a new sustainable office complex in the 13th district of the Hungarian capital. The building – in line with the ESG efforts of the bank – will be at the forefront of sustainability.

The complex consisting of several towers will be an emblematic and striking building of the area. The handover of the first phase is scheduled for Q1 2026.

The location was an essential aspect of the selection

According to MBH Bank’s announcement, it was a decisive factor that the future building complex should be easily reached from almost all parts of the city both by car and public transport. The project’s readiness level and the already-started construction work also played an important role in the decision.

Certain civil engineering works and substructures have already been completed in the area, so a part of the building complex can be built by the beginning of 2026.

Aiming to be the best

“In addition to modernizing our systems and bank branches, we also want to provide an inspiring work environment for our colleagues, so that we can continue the work we have started as efficiently as possible, building a market-leading, modern, digital bank.

When designing the new headquarters, we take sustainability aspects and the opinions of our colleagues into maximum account, as well as labour market needs and trends, so that within a few years we will be the ‘best workplace’ in the literal and strictest sense of the word,” -told  Dr Zsolt Barna, President and CEO of MBH Bank.

New HQ to bring significant cost savings and reduced ecological footprint

The headquarters building is owned and developed by MBH Bank’s subsidiary MBH Domo. Beatrix Mészáros, MBH Bank’s deputy general manager responsible for subsidiaries, emphasized in connection with the project:

The new, energy-efficient and modern headquarters will bring not only significant cost savings to the bank and reduce its ecological footprint, but also increase operational and organizational efficiency, as the bank’s Budapest employees are currently working in several parts of the city, in four older office buildings.

In addition, it is important to us that the new headquarters is built taking into account the objectives of the EU Taxonomy and obtains the most important green building certificates (LEED, BREEAM, WELL)”.
