Online VAT Declaration System Launched by Tax Authority in Hungary
The online VAT declaration and reporting system eÁFA has launched on January 1 as a pilot project and the first declarations can be filed from February 1, the tax authority NAV announced on Monday.

Users can already test some functions, and data from December 2023 are available, the authority added.

Monthly VAT payers must make their first electronic declarations via the system by February 20, quarterly taxpayers by April 20 and annual taxpayers by 2025.

If a declaration is filed for the same period in more than one way, the first one submitted will be taken into account by the NAV.

The eÁFA web interface can be used by taxpayers who manage a total of less than 100,000 invoices in a given reporting period.
