To Comply With EU Rules, Hungary Will Introduce One-Day Motorway Vignettes Soon
Total motorway vignette sales in Hungary fell by 1% to around 14.9 million units last year, toll system operator NÚSZ announced.

Sales of the annual vignettes rose 11% to 651,000 units, while the 10-day vignettes inched up 1% to 9.4 million.

Cars with foreign number plates accounted for 5.3 million of the purchases.

Sales of annual motorway stickers valid for a single county rose 9% to 2.6 million, half of which were sold to motorists in Pest county. This was followed by Fejér and Győr-Moson counties with 325,000 and 206,000 vignettes sold, respectively.

The NÚSZ collected Ft 128 billion in e-toll revenue last year, while revenue from commercial vehicles (above 3.5 tons) was Ft 400 billion.

In order to comply with EU rules, Hungary will introduce one-day stickers from March.
