La Femme International Women's Film Festival, Budapest, 4 - 7 June
Budapest is set to take centre stage in the international film world as the European edition of the acclaimed La Femme International Film Festival arrives in the Hungarian capital.

Established in Los Angeles more than two decades ago, the festival has built a strong reputation for championing female filmmakers and bringing fresh voices to the screen. Now, that mission is expanding across the Atlantic.

Scheduled to become an annual event in Budapest, La Femme International Film Festival Europe (LAFIFFE) aims to create a major platform for women working in film, television and digital media.

The festival welcomes projects in a wide range of categories, provided that a woman is credited as a producer, director or writer.

Beyond film screenings, the event is designed as a professional meeting point for creatives, producers, investors and industry experts.

The programme will feature panel discussions, networking opportunities and conversations about financing, production, distribution and the future of storytelling in Europe.

Organisers hope to build a meaningful bridge between the European and American film industries while helping emerging talent gain international visibility.

The choice of Budapest is no accident. Hungary’s capital has become one of Europe’s leading film-production hubs, attracting international productions with its skilled workforce, diverse locations and established industry infrastructure.

Festival founders see the city as an ideal base for a pan-European event focused on fostering collaboration and creativity.

For film lovers, the festival promises an opportunity to discover compelling new stories from around the world. For industry professionals, it offers access to new partnerships, fresh perspectives and a growing international network.

Above all, it represents another step forward in ensuring that women's voices continue to be heard and celebrated across the global screen industries.
