We all know mulled wine as a Hungarian winter warmer, but have you ever heard of mulled beer? Mulled (meaning “warmed”) beer has actually been around for centuries, and between the 1500-1800's it was the preferred way of enjoying beer in taverns.

Refrigeration as we know it didn’t exist back then of course, and so most beverages (including beer) were drunk at room, cellar or sometimes warmer temperatures.
