Local Dance: 'Chain Bridge Gala'

Up in the 16th District, a little-known theatre is staging an authentic folk dance to promote intercultural dialogue, and fuse tradition and modernity. The event forms part of the 28th annual Danube Carnival.

Modern Russian choreographer Boris Eifman created this two-act ballet, set to music by Johann Strauss the Younger at the impressively renovated Opera House. The plot focuses on a girl who loses herself in dance.

Contemporary Dance: 'Spid_er'

In this latest work by dance troupe FrenÁK, the creators step back in the biological hierarchy to gain inspiration from the world of spiders. The piece reveals how humanity creates a 'virtual global structure'.
