Psychedelic Experience: OZORA Festival

Originating from the solar eclipse of 1999, this chilled get-together between Lake Balaton and the Danube showcases music on six stages and all kinds of non-mainstream cultural activity to a serene valley.

Ördögkatlan - Devil's Cauldron Festival

This multi-cultural event takes place in four villages in the beautiful Villány wine region. International and Hungarian performers entertain locals, expats and tourists in a five-day celebration of diversity.

Paloznak Jazzpiknik

Reasonably big names play the Paloznak Jazzpiknik near the north shore of Lake Balaton, a three-day, four-stage, 40-gig extravaganza. This year, it welcomes Rick Astley, Level 42 and the Thievery Corporation.

Panyola Festival

On the first weekend of August, the north-eastern Hungarian village of Panyola stages its annual festival, staging well-known Hungarian band. This year, this includes Parno Graszt, Zuboly and the Cimbaliband.

Keep your midweek nice and lively by lending your ears to Truesounds Music, Peter Makto’s label founded in Budapest in 2004, and the underground electronica of Zenebona Records. Expect melodic house and techno!
