'Fresh Meat' International Short Film Festival, Now On

The 4th Friss Hús International Short Film Festival opened on the 30th of March at Toldi cinema in downtown Budapest, and runs until 3rd April. The selection contains Hungarian and international short films from the last year. All the short films will be screened with English subtitles.

Alan Sonfist (New York, 1946–) is regarded by art historians as the greatest living exponent of the movement known as land art, earth art, or environmental art. Alongside Robert Smithson, Walter de Maria, Michael Heizer and James Turrell, he was among the first artists whose works derived their themes, and the media used to execute them, directly from nature.

Cultural programmes linked to Hungary have begun in Japan. State Secretary for Public Diplomacy Zoltán Kovács is attending the events, and on Saturday his itinerary includes opening the cultural festival in Tokyo in which young Hungarian performers from Transylvania will take the stage.
