It is “almost certain” that Jewish federation Mazsihisz will stay away from the April 16 start of government programmes of the Holocaust Memorial Year, Mazsihisz leader András Heisler told Wednesday’s Népszabadság. The federation, however, may be represented in local government events, he said in an interview.

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg was seen drinking with his wife on Monday evening at Godzsu Udvar in downtown Budapest. Mr. Facebook was spotted in Spiler, a trendy restaurant-pub in the heart of the Jewish district. According to the owner, Zuck and wife were really friendly and polite, but didn’t stay too long. Hungary has lost another one of its most talented Magyar sons this year with the passing away of the late Tony Curtis (age 85) on Sept 29, 2010. Bernard Swartz, alias Tony Curtis (also known as James Curtis and Anthony Curtis in the begining of his career, launched in 1949) was born to Jewish Hungarian immigrants (from Mateszalka, NE Hungary) in New York’s Bronx district on June 3, 1925.
