Until 19 May. The best Hungarian press photography from 2017 is now on show at the Capa Center. Organized by the National Association of Hungarian Journalists (MÚOSZ), this exhibition has been a celebration of Hungarian press photographers and photography for over three decades, and a part of the Budapest Spring Festival for many years.

It's the 35th time that the best Hungarian press photos of the previous year are put on display. We could hold a celebration, as they usually do on such major anniversaries, we could enumerate numbers, records, and results. And we could list the names of everyone who has contributed to everything that has been created over the past years.

Neuroscientist and former president of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA) Szilveszter E Vizi received this year’s award for disseminating scientific knowledge to members of the public which comes with an asteroid being named after the recipient.

US Holocaust Memorial Museum Urges Rescinding Bayer’s State Award

The Holocaust Memorial Museum of Washington, DC, condemned Hungary granting a state award to journalist Zsolt Bayer and called for rescinding the award. The USHMM said the award is intended to recognize individuals who demonstrate excellence in service to the country and “the promotion of universal human values”.
