Hungarian Citizens Not Affected By Increased Threat Of Terrorism

The threat of terrorism has increased in Hungary but not to a level where it would affect the everyday lives of citizens, Interior Minister Sándor Pintér said at his annual hearing before parliament’s national security committee. The authorities are continually monitoring the level of threat and there is no need for special training to individuals, he said.

Successful drug prevention is more than just a police officer in front of a blackboard talking about the harms of the different drugs. Only long-term programs can be successful but they are expensive and the schools have no money. Civil organisations would do it for free but they hardly get any state support.
Sunday Shopping Ban Extended To World Heritage Sites

The cabinet has decided to extend the ban on Sunday retail activity, to take effect on 15 March, to world heritage sites, government spokesman András Giró-Szász has said. In addition to large areas in central Budapest, the decision will affect the towns of Sátoraljaújhely, Szerencs, Sárospatak and Tokaj in the Tokaj historical wine region in northeastern Hungary.
