The three candidates for the UEFA presidency briefed leaders of the soccer federations of the Visegrad Four countries on their plans for the future of European soccer’s ruling body in Budapest on Wednesday. The meeting was also attended by the soccer federation heads of Austria, Lichtenstein and Switzerland, the Hungarian Football Association (MLSZ) said on its website.

The Hungarian Football Federation (MLSZ) is applying to be the host of the 2019 Under 21 European Championships. UEFA will announce in late September which candidate from a list of Austria, Netherlands, Republic of Ireland, Italy, Portugal, Scotland, Slovakia and Hungary will be awarded the tournament.

President János Áder met International Olympic Committee (IOC) head Thomas Bach for talks in Rio de Janeiro late on Monday, which also covered Budapest’s bid to host the 2024 Olympics. The Hungarian Olympic Committee said on its website mob. hu that Áder discussed the Hungarian bid with several IOC members during Rio 2016.
