The two-day international conference on Cyberspace in Budapest was opened by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, who told the conference that few users realise even today that they can fall victim to crime in the cyberspace. Global cybercrime generated more revenue last year than drug trafficking, he added.

Magyar Telekom will dismiss 500 of its 7,500 employees, having reached agreement with its unions, the company said on Monday. Most of the workers will leave at the end of the year, reports Napi Gazdaság. The cuts do not include any retirements nor cuts in executive staff.

"Some 1,200 employees of Nokia received notices of dismissal yesterday, as the mobile-phone maker began the first wave of job cuts at its Komárom factory. The Finnish company announced layoffs of 2,300, roughly half of the Hungarian workforce, in February as it moves production of smart phones closer to suppliers and markets in Asia.
