Restaurant Review: Mezcal - "Disgusting Concoctions"
- 28 Sep 2017 8:58 AM
- food & drink
Written by Mr. Yuzu. As the name would suggest, it’s a Mexican place. Although I didn’t see any mezcal on the menu. But let that be the only problem with this restaurant. Did I say restaurant? Sorry. My bad. I meant to say sh*thole!
Restaurant Review: Jamie’s Italian Kitchen Budapest

Written by Mr. Yuzu. I’ve been here once before a couple days after they opened and it was pretty good. Not outstanding, but good enough for me to come back a second time. Well… this time it was not so good.

Written by Mr. Yuzu. We ordered Vienna sausages (not the green slimy ones you get in a can in the States,) American pancakes (pancakes) and a 4 egg white and 1 whole egg scramble with tomatoes and green herbs...
Restaurant Review: Zona - Ok / Overpriced

Written by Mr. Yuzu. The place looks great, awesome location with excellent service. Good food, good wine but way overpriced. It just didn’t really leave a lasting impression in me. We ate we payed we left. Go to Fricska instead for half the price and considerably better food.
Restaurant Review: Hachapuri Budapest - Great Georgian Grub

Written by Mr. Yuzu. We’ve been here about a dozen times and everything has been tasty and fresh. If there is something you don’t like ask the waiter if it’s in your food or not because they don’t write everything on the menu that goes in their dishes. The little Georgian “pizzas” are excellent, I really like the little nut ball appetizer spreads. Their soups are really good as well.
Restaurant Review: Budapest Barbecue Company

Written by Mr. Yuzu. 'BBC' produces the most authentic BBQ in Budapest, in my opinion. This is the only place where you can actually see the red line caused by smoking, on the outer rim of the brisket. Everything is always fresh and comes out hot. I would say the ribs are a bit hit and miss, we’ve had ribs here that were fantastic and a couple times they were really fatty and not that tender.
Restaurant Review: La Perle Noire In Budapest
- 27 Jul 2017 10:00 AM
- food & drink
The Andrássy Boulevard is most definitely on the list of Budapest’s must-sees. Just minutes from its end at Heroes Square you will find La Perle Noire. If you are skeptical about this being a tourist rip-off – of which the city has plenty –, let the worries go, because La Perle Noir is the exact opposite.
Restaurant Review: Eating & Meeting At Babka Budapest

Would you go to a restaurant on your own? Although we are often an individualist society, most of us would still think it’s rather unpleasant to go out to eat without company. However, it does not have to be unpleasant. Babka, opened last May, uses a “big table” concept to make the restaurant a comfortable place for those people arriving solo as well. This is true to their motto: Together we are ...
Xpat Review: Costes Downtown Biz Lunch

Just like you, most probably, I find some high-end restaurants a tad stuffy sometimes. You know when you’re not sure whether to have the sparkling or still water without upsetting the waiter. Well rest assured the staff at the sister restaurant of Costes are very easy-going, as well as knowledgeable and prompt, and thankfully the food lives up to the Michelin-starred reputation.
